Charley Sawyer

Charley Sawyer was born and raised in Ukiah. Growing up, he was involved in music and theater, playing piano and trumpet and participating in beginning acting SPACE classes. As time progressed he expanded his musical ventures playing in local combo bands and in the Mendocino College Jazz band which received notable review at the Reno Jazz Festival. He has also been involved in local theatrical productions at Mendocino College, SPACE and Ukiah Players Theater in various roles from acting, to building sets, running lights or producing projections. Taking skills learned from technical and mechanical experience, he has been able to help SPACE with facility related projects, maintenance, improvements big or small. In early 2021 Sawyer helped design and install the courtyard shade sails at SPACE to provide more useful outside area for classes and events to be held."
