The Laramie Project

Near & Arnold’s School of Performing Arts & Cultural Education (SPACE) presents The Laramie Project, one of the most performed plays in America today. The play, written by Moises Kaufman and directed by Joel Shura, is a chronicle of the life in the town of Laramie, Wyoming, one year after the murder of Matthew Shepard. In 1998, Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project conducted more than 200 interviews with people from the town. From these interviews, they wrote the play, which is a docudrama that presents the diverse views of the townspeople, the writers, and the actors.

The Laramie Project, for mature audiences, will be performed at the SPACE Theater in Ukiah on:
Friday, March 7 & 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 8 & 15 at 7:30 p.m.
