SPACE, Near & Arnold’s School of Performing Arts & Cultural Education, presents Matilda THE MUSICAL. The performance will be presented September 29 – October 8, Fridays & Saturdays at 7pm, & Sundays at 2pm.

Join us as a multi-generational cast performs Roald Dahl's Matilda, the Musical, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Keller, based on the 1988 novel Matilda by Roald Dahl. The musical's narrative centers on Matilda Wormwood, a precocious 5-year-old girl whose brilliance and other-worldly talents help her overcome tremendous odds while encouraging and inspiring her fellow students and favorite teacher.

Just to name drop, the stellar community cast includes Kate Magruder, Joni McLeod, Chuck Wilson, Scott Spears, Jordan Wegner, Tony Rakes, Shannon Sawyer, Eddie Haehl, Rickie Farrah, Evan Gaustad and an exceptional ensemble featuring SPACE students, parents, and talented young performers.

The magical set, designed by Steve Decker, transforms the whole theater into the fascinating and fantastical environment of Matilda.  The lead set builder Moses Sunbeam and a hardworking crew of parent volunteers brought the design to life. Light Design and Sound Design are by master designers Steve Wilson and Yanahay Hooper, respectively.
