On June 7, 2008 SPACE (Near & Arnold's School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education) welcomes Oakland-based Destiny Arts & San Francisco's Dance Mission Grrrl Brigade in an all-teen explosion of movement & song with the theme of getting fit! Local teen performers include: Plains Grass Dancer, Xavier Knight, Troupe Satya Bellydancers, Vedolla Sway Dance Team, SPACE's advanced performance groups: Freedom Choir, Breath, In the Streets Dance Team and Strictly Streets, and advanced break dance artist Ryan Johnson with surprise bay area guests!
Don't miss this energetic performance! Come jam with a diverse group of young people working individually and together to promote emotional, physical and social wellnes - and having a great time doing it!
There will be two performances on Saturday, June 7th, at 2 pm and 7pm, at the Mendocino College Center Theater, 1000 Hensley Creek Road, Ukiah. The special 2 pm matinee performance is FREE to teens & their families! Tickets can be picked up at the SPACE Studio, 145 E. Church Street, Ukiah, or at the box office on the day of show. Free tickets are available on a first come first served basis. Tickets for the evening performance are $12/adults & $5/youth 18 and under, and are available at the Mendocino Book Company in Ukiah.
